Is the business you’re building giving you the life you wanted—or keeping you too busy to live it?
Business intuitive and You Unlimited podcast host Christina Deering joins Jet Bunditwong on The Personal Side of Business to explore how personal experiences shape the way we work, lead, and define success.
Christina shares how her background in marketing led her toward helping entrepreneurs build more meaningful businesses, and how personal loss changed her relationship with spirituality and purpose. Together, she and Jet discuss the pressure to do everything yourself, the fear behind letting go, and what happens when you follow someone else’s blueprint instead of your own.
In this conversation:
• Recognizing the difference between staying busy and making meaningful progress
• Delegating so you can focus on the work only you can do
• Exploring the “five layers of why” behind starting your business
• Reconnecting your daily decisions with the life you want
• Christina’s perspective on intuition and spirituality in business
• Navigating grief, change, and the need for support as an entrepreneur
In a personal closing conversation, Christina opens up about pregnancy loss, motherhood, and learning to ask for help during one of the hardest seasons of her life.
For anyone who has lost sight of why they started, this episode offers space to pause, reflect, and consider what success means now.
Content note: Includes discussion of grief, pregnancy loss, and emotional distress.

00:00 --> 00:03 Am I doing this in alignment or am I just being busy?
00:03 --> 00:07 Because there is something to be said about running
00:07 --> 00:10 the marathon that is entrepreneurship and owning a business, but sometimes
00:10 --> 00:14 you're running on the wrong street or you're running in the wrong direction and
00:14 --> 00:17 it's like you're running, that's great, but take a beat to say,
00:17 --> 00:20 let me check my directions first. Welcome to The Personal Side
00:21 --> 00:25 of Business where you hear real stories from real entrepreneurs.
00:36 --> 00:39 Hi, and welcome to The Personal Side of Business, where every business has a story.
00:40 --> 00:43 I'm your host, Jet Buding Wong. Today, my guest is a keynote speaker.
00:44 --> 00:47 She has a popular podcast called You Unlimited, and she's
00:47 --> 00:50 a business intuitive, which we're gonna find out what that means.
00:51 --> 00:54 Welcome to the podcast, Christina Deering. Thank you so much. I'm so excited
00:55 --> 00:58 to be here. This is gonna be a lot of fun. Yeah. So let's start.
00:58 --> 01:03 Let's tell everyone how we got here. What's your story? Yeah. So in
01:03 --> 01:07 general, what brought me in back into San Diego, which I just love San Diego
01:07 --> 01:10 so much, was I had an interview earlier this morning, TV interview,
01:10 --> 01:13 and then my PR agent set this up and it was so fun for us
01:14 --> 01:17 to be able to just connect. And when I started listening to your podcast,
01:17 --> 01:20 it wasn't just about the connection. It was about like, how deep
01:21 --> 01:24 you go into people's stories and how you not just, you don't just talk about
01:24 --> 01:27 business. You also talk about the personal side of business, which I believe,
01:27 --> 01:30 especially as a business intuitive, all of it's related. And if we have a lot
01:31 --> 01:34 of stuff going on personally, we have to tune into that,
01:34 --> 01:38 maybe move some energy around that so that you can fully step into where
01:38 --> 01:42 you desire to be in business. So I'm really excited about how you just allow
01:42 --> 01:44 the two to really dance together. I think that'll be fun.
01:45 --> 01:49 Yeah. I think it's really important, not just understanding
01:49 --> 01:53 how you run a business and all the details, 'cause you've talked about that
01:53 --> 01:57 too, you know, delegating, putting things in place, knowing when
01:57 --> 02:01 to get help and mentorship, but also
02:01 --> 02:05 having this personal side and figure out
02:06 --> 02:09 how it's aligned with your business. And you talked a lot about that, right?
02:09 --> 02:13 So what are some of the things that you've seen in business
02:13 --> 02:16 owners that maybe that's where they're missing?
02:16 --> 02:20 Like what are some signs that business owners can say,
02:20 --> 02:23 oh, that's me. Yeah. Well, when I think about
02:23 --> 02:27 the personal side of business, I think about this idea of we
02:28 --> 02:30 could have the perfect business strategy, right? Like you can go to someone, you can
02:30 --> 02:33 have the perfect soul-aligned strategy. You're ready to go. And if
02:33 --> 02:37 you have a fear that's in the way of what you want, you'll block
02:37 --> 02:40 that strategy from working all day long. And so when I think
02:41 --> 02:43 about the personal side of business, I think about, let's tune into what are your
02:44 --> 02:46 biggest fears when it comes to what you wanna build. If we can start to
02:47 --> 02:50 move the energy around that, that's gonna allow you to really propel forward
02:51 --> 02:54 and fully step into what you desire most. I think what we desire
02:54 --> 02:57 is destined for us, and we have a lot of stories that are in the
02:57 --> 03:00 way around us being visible, around us having a fear
03:01 --> 03:04 of success or a fear of failure that will have us procrastinate or do other
03:04 --> 03:08 things like that. So I think it's really important to be aware or at least
03:08 --> 03:11 bring someone in that can help you be aware of what's in the way of
03:11 --> 03:15 what you want. Yeah. I've listened to a lot of your episodes
03:15 --> 03:19 and one of the things that I've got from it was there was this sort
03:20 --> 03:24 of key theme of figuring that out where
03:24 --> 03:27 you need to be aligned in certain places,
03:27 --> 03:31 fix yourself up. And someone's journey might not be
03:31 --> 03:34 your journey. There was something really poignant that
03:34 --> 03:37 you had brought up that You can get a mentor,
03:38 --> 03:42 get the person to show you exactly how they made $1 million. Yeah. But you're
03:43 --> 03:46 still not happy inside because something about you is not there.
03:46 --> 03:50 Right. What are some of the skills that you give to your clients to
03:50 --> 03:54 help them get there? Hmm. So something that I use
03:54 --> 03:57 that undoubtedly helps them get to where they want to go faster is something I
03:58 --> 04:01 call the 7-figure shift. And it's really powerful. It's basically what you're doing
04:01 --> 04:05 is you're starting to visualize what you want in your mind's eye, but you are
04:05 --> 04:09 calming your nervous system in the process. And so it's really important to do because
04:10 --> 04:13 often we see the vision and then we start getting really scared to
04:13 --> 04:16 go after the vision. You know what I mean? Sometimes we like, or we'll invest
04:17 --> 04:19 in the space and then we're suddenly frozen. We're like, uh, I don't know what
04:19 --> 04:22 to do with my hands. And it's like, you actually know what to do,
04:22 --> 04:25 but it's just fear that's creeping in. And so the 7 Figure Shift,
04:25 --> 04:29 which is really powerful, allows you to calm your nervous system while visualizing
04:29 --> 04:33 the thing that you want. And what it's doing is it's normalizing success
04:33 --> 04:36 in the body. When success feels normal, it's so much easier
04:37 --> 04:39 for it to come to fruition because we're like, of course. And then it just
04:40 --> 04:43 starts to align us with opportunities, people, things of that nature. So it's
04:44 --> 04:46 a really powerful exercise. They can find it on my website,
04:46 --> 04:49 christinadeering.com/shift, if they want it. So it's almost like
04:51 --> 04:55 centering yourself first to be able to meet the goals that you want outside
04:56 --> 04:59 your body. Yes, exactly. And what feels normal, we manifest in.
05:00 --> 05:03 Yeah. Now here's my devil's advocate, right? Go for
05:04 --> 05:07 it. Because I've preached some of the same things for people
05:07 --> 05:11 to— I'm a big believer in trying to educate your mind,
05:13 --> 05:18 to enhance your body, and then to learn about
05:18 --> 05:22 business in all aspects. Because I think you need to put those things together.
05:22 --> 05:27 Something I've brought up before is there's this triangle
05:27 --> 05:30 that I always think has to happen, right? It's just the brain, the business,
05:30 --> 05:34 and the heart. And all those 3 things have to really align, I think,
05:34 --> 05:37 for someone to be super successful. And a lot of times 2 of those
05:37 --> 05:40 things will work out. And you're always missing this one
05:41 --> 05:44 component and you're always chasing after it. And as you're chasing after it,
05:45 --> 05:48 one of those other things starts to disappear because your energy can only go
05:49 --> 05:52 in one place or, or, you know, it can only go in a couple places
05:52 --> 05:55 at a time. When a business owner
05:56 --> 05:59 is going through this and there's 16-hour days, 7 days a week, and they're just
06:00 --> 06:03 busting their butt and we're going to
06:03 --> 06:06 them and saying, hey, we need you to do something else. We need
06:07 --> 06:10 you to focus on yourself for a little bit to be able to get to
06:11 --> 06:14 center, to be able to get this business successful. That business owner
06:15 --> 06:18 will usually come up to me and say, you're crazy. I don't, I don't have
06:18 --> 06:21 time for my, my kids. I don't have time for my family. I barely eat.
06:21 --> 06:24 I eat once a day. And I forget sometimes to do this and this and
06:25 --> 06:28 this. What are we telling them as a business owner? This is
06:28 --> 06:32 how you're gonna get to that center. So they often say,
06:33 --> 06:36 those that don't have time to meditate are the people that need to meditate most.
06:36 --> 06:39 You're right. You know what I mean? Yeah, yeah. And if you try it,
06:39 --> 06:42 even if you take 3 deep breaths when you're in that,
06:42 --> 06:45 you know, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, when you take the
06:45 --> 06:49 3 deep breaths, all of a sudden your to-do list might start to look different.
06:49 --> 06:52 So you might look at it and say, okay, I've got 900 things to do
06:52 --> 06:55 and I need to make sure that this is done. Looking at it, you might
06:55 --> 06:58 be like, you know what? I could actually, now that I've calmed my nervous system
06:58 --> 07:02 for even 1 minute, if that's all it takes, 3 deep breaths,
07:02 --> 07:05 now that I'm feeling a little more centered, I'm recognizing that
07:05 --> 07:08 maybe this to-do could be moved to tomorrow. Maybe I can delegate this one.
07:09 --> 07:12 Maybe this one isn't even something I need to do, but I'm just feeling like
07:13 --> 07:16 I should do it because I've always done it. It gives you a minute to
07:16 --> 07:19 actually take a look at what you're doing and to say, am I doing
07:19 --> 07:24 this in alignment or am I just being busy? Because there is something
07:24 --> 07:27 to be said about running the marathon that is entrepreneurship and
07:27 --> 07:31 owning a business, but sometimes you're running on the wrong street
07:31 --> 07:34 or you're running in the wrong direction. And it's like, you're running, that's great,
07:34 --> 07:38 but take a beat to say, let me check my directions first.
07:38 --> 07:41 Because so often they're gonna be running in the opposite direction and suddenly we're gonna
07:42 --> 07:45 build the business, have the income we desire, but we wanna burn it to the
07:45 --> 07:49 ground because we have to keep grinding. And it's like, so be kind of
07:49 --> 07:53 aware of where you're at. And start to build it in a way
07:53 --> 07:57 that will excite you to show up for. Does that make sense? Are there,
07:57 --> 08:01 are there, yeah, absolutely. Are there procedures
08:02 --> 08:05 that you think help certain styles of business
08:06 --> 08:09 owners more than others? Like maybe if someone's like a, I don't know,
08:09 --> 08:12 engineer brain. Mm-hmm. Maybe if they're looking at, for them, it's probably listing
08:12 --> 08:16 things out. Yeah. Right. Maybe someone who's, I don't know,
08:16 --> 08:20 out in the field more, maybe for them is to, to park
08:20 --> 08:23 their car, stop for a second, take those breaths and just relax
08:23 --> 08:27 or listen to something that's calming for them otherwise. And then before they go
08:27 --> 08:30 out into this construction site, that's, that's gonna be loud and noisy,
08:30 --> 08:34 right? Are there, do you feel like there's techniques
08:34 --> 08:38 that align more with certain types of business owners than others? Absolutely.
08:39 --> 08:42 Uh, I think let's optimize our time, you know,
08:42 --> 08:45 like I think that's really important. So what could you do to couple it with
08:46 --> 08:48 something you're already doing? Yeah. So that could be as simple as, Brushing your teeth,
08:49 --> 08:52 you're gonna do it most likely twice, twice a day. And so what
08:53 --> 08:55 can you do while you're brushing your teeth that could calm your nervous system at
08:55 --> 08:59 the same time? Could you just breathe in and out through your nose and
08:59 --> 09:02 just start to center yourself? Now you've got 2 minutes in the morning, 2 minutes
09:02 --> 09:05 at night, and what that's allowing you to do is to really start to say,
09:05 --> 09:08 okay, I feel grounded, I feel centered, and let me release
09:09 --> 09:12 the day, the day that I just had. Yeah. So I think coupling things with
09:12 --> 09:15 things you're already doing is gonna allow that to be a lot easier.
09:15 --> 09:19 And I, I do something called transform your to-do list as well. So those that
09:20 --> 09:23 are really oriented on like having a list and wanting to check things off,
09:24 --> 09:26 one of the things that I teach people to do too is look at your
09:27 --> 09:30 to-do list and start to take a look at on a
09:30 --> 09:34 scale from 1 to 10, 1 being, I just wanna jump off
09:34 --> 09:36 a ledge. I don't wanna do this at all. 10 being like, oh, total flow
09:37 --> 09:40 state. I could do this all day. Start to rate some of those to-dos
09:40 --> 09:44 and say, okay, if it's a 10, I'm going to do those. That feels really
09:44 --> 09:47 good. If it's anything that's underneath a 5, I always invite people to do one
09:47 --> 09:51 of 3 things. Look at those and say, one, can I
09:51 --> 09:54 either throw this task away? Because sometimes you can. Sometimes we have stuff on our
09:55 --> 09:57 to-do list and we're like, I don't actually have to do this. I've just been
09:58 --> 10:01 telling myself I need to. So can I throw it away? Can I delegate it?
10:02 --> 10:05 Meaning, can I delegate it to my team? Can I delegate it to my
10:06 --> 10:09 partner? Can I delegate it to someone else? If you can't do either of those
10:09 --> 10:13 things, The last thing that I recommend is how can you actually change
10:13 --> 10:17 the energy in which you're doing it? Because we exhaust ourselves
10:17 --> 10:20 when we're doing things that we really don't want to do. And we're thinking about
10:20 --> 10:23 how much we don't want to do it. And it just makes it 12 times
10:23 --> 10:26 worse. So when we can actually change the energy in which we're doing that,
10:27 --> 10:30 and what I mean by that could be as simple as playing music while
10:31 --> 10:34 you're doing the task, something that simple will actually make the task so much easier.
10:34 --> 10:37 Then you have so much more energy to do all the other things that you
10:37 --> 10:40 need to do. Yeah. I think in one of your episodes, you talked about that
10:41 --> 10:44 was to go to like a Starbucks and change the— Totally, change your atmosphere.
10:45 --> 10:49 Yeah, just do something that changes it up a little bit and you're gonna revitalize
10:49 --> 10:52 yourself to get through it. Yeah, one of the things that a friend
10:52 --> 10:56 of mine, Barney Connington, who I had on the show, he's a
10:56 --> 11:00 divorce mediator, and one of the things he had told me years ago that really
11:00 --> 11:04 changed my life was to list things out and order
11:04 --> 11:08 it like the way you're saying of importance. Have things
11:08 --> 11:11 that I need to do this within the next 3, 4 hours, or things that
11:11 --> 11:14 are sort of expendable for the next 2, 3 days.
11:15 --> 11:19 And then also check off as you're going through so you feel
11:19 --> 11:22 accomplished. Yes. And it was something that changed my life because at the—
11:23 --> 11:26 when I looked at my day, I was like, oh my God, there's 24 things
11:26 --> 11:29 I gotta try to do. And I'm going, you know what, this phone call can
11:29 --> 11:33 wait a couple days. It's not as important. And it allowed me
11:33 --> 11:37 just to breathe. Yes. Right. So you're not in this underwater for all the time.
11:37 --> 11:40 And I, and I think that's what business owners tend to feel like they
11:41 --> 11:44 have to do, you know, be the stress
11:44 --> 11:48 ball and always up against the wall and go, yeah, this is
11:48 --> 11:51 what I do. This is all we do. And sometimes it's like, that's not really
11:51 --> 11:55 the business, right? Business is trying to move forward
11:55 --> 11:59 and make money and be able to grow and scale. But I think that
11:59 --> 12:03 delegation, which you brought up too, and something that I've, I always push
12:04 --> 12:07 people to do, to know when it's time for you to unload
12:07 --> 12:10 some of that burden to someone else. And I, I know, you know,
12:10 --> 12:14 um, you've talked about this is sometimes, you know, cash flow is not
12:14 --> 12:18 really allowing you to do that, but being smart about how you do that at
12:18 --> 12:22 certain moments, it's important, right? Yes. Buying that virtual assistant. You've talked about that.
12:22 --> 12:25 I have a virtual assistant. It's amazing. Game changer. Yeah. It, yes.
12:25 --> 12:28 Changes you. Yes. And you're just like, oh, I've been wasting, I wouldn't
12:29 --> 12:32 say, well, wasting, but, You've been putting all that energy into 10 hours a week
12:32 --> 12:35 doing this. And you're like, someone else is doing it and I can focus
12:36 --> 12:38 on being able to grow this business. And that's what's important.
12:39 --> 12:43 When you're having a conversation with an entrepreneur about
12:44 --> 12:47 delegating, is it always easy for
12:48 --> 12:51 them to accept that? No, not at all. Like it's the opposite. They're like,
12:51 --> 12:53 no, I can do it best. So I'm gonna do it. And it's like,
12:53 --> 12:56 well, yes, but is this your zone of genius? Like, do you,
12:57 --> 13:00 like, is this task making, you so excited to show up for it every day?
13:00 --> 13:04 Or is this actually something that if you train someone on
13:05 --> 13:08 your way of doing it, that that would actually give you space to do the
13:08 --> 13:12 things that only you can do? Because there are certain things in business that only
13:12 --> 13:16 we can do, where it's like certain things, like when I think about my clients,
13:16 --> 13:19 it's like I'm the one who's doing, showing up and doing the healings. I'm the
13:20 --> 13:23 one that's showing up and doing the coaching. I couldn't hire someone necessarily, maybe,
13:23 --> 13:27 but I couldn't hire a VA to do those type of things. But could
13:27 --> 13:30 I hire a VA to then say, okay, can you edit this? Can you upload
13:31 --> 13:35 that? Can you download this? Can you email this? Absolutely. So it's about sometimes we
13:35 --> 13:38 have to, again, calm the nervous system around handing things off, but I think training
13:38 --> 13:41 people is really important. So that's a really
13:42 --> 13:45 important piece. You've got SOPs, right, to teach people how to do it, record that,
13:46 --> 13:49 monitor it the first 2 or 3 times they do it so you can shift
13:49 --> 13:53 it if it needs to be. But that's a really big one is just giving
13:53 --> 13:56 the space to say, when I do hand that off, it allows me so
13:57 --> 13:59 much more energy to focus on the things only I can do. And it's such
14:00 --> 14:03 a skill, I think, to practice. Yes. For you to get used to giving off
14:03 --> 14:07 that. I know. I'm in there too. I'm on my next edge,
14:07 --> 14:10 which is like, okay, I've given her a lot. Like, what about this thing?
14:10 --> 14:14 I don't know. But I have to lean into trust and know that
14:14 --> 14:18 everything's gonna be okay. And I think a lot of times when people finally decide
14:19 --> 14:22 to do it, it's because they know other people have done it.
14:22 --> 14:25 Yes, exactly. If you're the restaurant owner,
14:25 --> 14:27 you've been doing this for years. And you're just like, I don't want to hire
14:28 --> 14:30 a manager because I'm the one that I need to keep track of everything.
14:30 --> 14:34 I want to make sure the money's here, everyone's working. And you're like,
14:34 --> 14:37 oh, but my friend who owns a restaurant has done it and it's been successful.
14:38 --> 14:40 It allows you to start to see this in a different light.
14:42 --> 14:45 Do you think there is a learning curve
14:46 --> 14:48 against how long someone's been in a certain business?
14:49 --> 14:52 Like if I'm there for 2 years, I'm like, oh yeah, sure.
14:52 --> 14:56 I'm 2 years in, I'm 28 years old. I'm like, yeah, I don't
14:56 --> 14:58 want to do any of this. But I, I feel like when you start to
14:58 --> 15:01 get in your 30s and 40s, you start to get set in your ways.
15:01 --> 15:04 Mm-hmm. And find like, ah, I've been doing this for so long. I don't wanna
15:05 --> 15:07 give this up. And I, I, I'm afraid someone's gonna come in and start to,
15:07 --> 15:11 the nails and the screws are gonna come loose. Mm-hmm. You know? Yeah. So you
15:11 --> 15:15 think there's a learning curve to that? I do. But I also would encourage
15:16 --> 15:19 every single business owner, entrepreneur, take a minute to start
15:20 --> 15:23 to tune into what I, what we call the 5 layers of why. Why did
15:24 --> 15:26 you start your business in the first place? And then you'll get your answer.
15:27 --> 15:30 And why that? Okay. And then you'll get your answer and you keep going.
15:30 --> 15:34 Ultimately, what most people say is, I wanna spend more time with my family.
15:34 --> 15:38 I wanna go on vacation. Like the layers underneath the reasons
15:38 --> 15:42 you're doing these things anyways are family connection,
15:42 --> 15:45 presence, peace, joy. And so that I
15:46 --> 15:49 believe is a really cool jumping off point to say, okay, but if I do
15:49 --> 15:52 hand that off, then actually I do get to be more present with my kids.
15:53 --> 15:55 Or I do get to do the other things on my list that I get
15:56 --> 15:59 to lay on the beach because that's my dream when I started this business.
15:59 --> 16:03 Right. And I feel like it gets layered underneath over
16:03 --> 16:07 time. Right. And I think I always have this thought that each year
16:07 --> 16:11 that someone is in business and the harder they grind, that goal starts
16:11 --> 16:14 to feel more distant. And they're just like,
16:14 --> 16:17 I'm just waking up every day at 6:00 AM, go through
16:18 --> 16:21 the motions, get back. And then We're in this business again.
16:21 --> 16:24 I go to sleep, I start it all over again. And I think there's sometimes
16:25 --> 16:29 when you have to sit down as an entrepreneur and say what
16:30 --> 16:32 you're saying to go back and go, what was it? What was my goal?
16:32 --> 16:35 Was it to work forever? No, I don't think any business owner— never
16:36 --> 16:40 see my children. Never go on vacation. Also be stressed
16:40 --> 16:43 out all the time. Yes. I, you know, I, and I think that goes in
16:43 --> 16:46 a lot of different, industries.
16:47 --> 16:51 I've met— one of the industries I always think about is every lawyer
16:51 --> 16:54 I've ever met that is full practicing
16:55 --> 16:58 litigation knows nothing about media.
16:59 --> 17:02 They're like, I'm never on this. I've never seen a movie. I don't
17:02 --> 17:06 listen to music. I don't go to concerts. My family goes on vacation. I still
17:06 --> 17:09 work. And I wish there was a way
17:09 --> 17:13 to get everyone on board to see that the end goal is
17:13 --> 17:17 not to be working forever, but then you accumulate
17:17 --> 17:21 this life that I think you have to keep up with it. And then to
17:21 --> 17:24 a lot of what you teach, I think when you start to go in that
17:24 --> 17:28 direction too far, your center starts to go in a different direction,
17:28 --> 17:31 and now you're not happy about what you're doing. What are some of
17:32 --> 17:35 the things that you teach for people to get back to that center?
17:35 --> 17:39 Can you talk about that? Absolutely. I think sometimes
17:39 --> 17:42 even stepping into, coaching mentorship is really powerful. Mm-hmm.
17:42 --> 17:45 Because they're gonna ask you questions that have you recognize
17:45 --> 17:49 the pattern that you're in right now. So it's like, it's, it's a pattern interrupt
17:49 --> 17:52 where sometimes we're doing stuff and then until someone holds up a mirror, you're like,
17:53 --> 17:56 wait, I've been doing that? Like, I didn't even notice that I was never going
17:56 --> 17:59 on vacation. I didn't even notice that I've missed the last 12 soccer games.
17:59 --> 18:03 All of these things where it's like when you step into a space where people
18:03 --> 18:06 know what your goals are, which means not just the goal, it's the
18:07 --> 18:10 5 layers underneath it. What's the goal and why? Let's get deeper.
18:11 --> 18:14 They can start to ask you really powerful questions to say, but is this
18:14 --> 18:17 in alignment with your deepest goal? Does that actually make sense?
18:18 --> 18:21 That I think is a really powerful tool. That's why I hold space for my
18:21 --> 18:25 clients in that way is knowing what they want, knowing what they really want,
18:25 --> 18:28 and then asking them really powerful questions when they get stuck or they get kind
18:29 --> 18:31 of caught up in the grind that will kind of get them out of that
18:32 --> 18:35 experience. Yeah. And You know, one of the things after
18:36 --> 18:39 listening to you for all your episodes, and I
18:39 --> 18:43 wanted to ask you, what was it that inspired
18:44 --> 18:47 you to start to mentor entrepreneurs in this direction?
18:49 --> 18:52 So I studied marketing in college. I was at,
18:53 --> 18:56 I worked at an agency for 15 years. So I was building all of
18:57 --> 19:01 these brands, really big brands. And I was realizing, they don't really
19:01 --> 19:04 care about the end consumer that much. It's like a lot of people clocking in,
19:04 --> 19:07 clocking out, and I was like, I feel like I'm
19:08 --> 19:11 just a number in this job, and at some point I started saying like,
19:11 --> 19:14 well, what do I really wanna do? What gets me excited? And I started following
19:14 --> 19:18 that, but then I was like, I wanna help build brands that actually wanna change
19:18 --> 19:21 people's lives, that desire to make an impact on the world,
19:21 --> 19:25 that have some sort of a movement that they want to actually birth through them,
19:25 --> 19:28 and so that's what started getting me the most excited about it is 'cause I
19:29 --> 19:32 had all of this experience in marketing, but I was recognizing I was building brands
19:32 --> 19:36 that felt like they just didn't care. So by translating those
19:36 --> 19:40 skills into now what I help my clients do, it's the most rewarding
19:40 --> 19:43 thing on earth because it's like, this is what they came on this planet to
19:43 --> 19:47 do and I'm helping them build it, which is so exciting. Now I
19:47 --> 19:51 want to dive deeper into that. I feel like there is
19:51 --> 19:55 a part of you that you've gone
19:55 --> 19:58 through something that made you want
19:59 --> 20:02 to center back Right. Is there something that, a story
20:02 --> 20:06 for you that really inspired you outside of just helping
20:06 --> 20:09 business owners that were like, this is missing in me that I need to share
20:10 --> 20:10 with other entrepreneurs?
20:13 --> 20:17 The intuition was a really big part where it was like I was trying
20:17 --> 20:20 to take everyone else's template and make it my own. And then I was
20:21 --> 20:24 realizing it either wasn't working or I was building
20:24 --> 20:27 someone else's business and I was like, well, I don't really want to show up
20:27 --> 20:31 for it now. So I will tell you, one of the hardest things
20:31 --> 20:34 that I've moved through has been losing someone that I love in different
20:35 --> 20:39 ways. And I think that has been my biggest spiritual awakenings has been loss.
20:39 --> 20:42 And so I think that has a really powerful way of kind of bringing
20:42 --> 20:46 you back into what actually matters, what you desire to lean into.
20:46 --> 20:49 So, uh, when I had my first big loss, I remember,
20:49 --> 20:53 um, and you know, I had my dog, my puppy passed
20:53 --> 20:57 away. Uh, and I remember, it being such
20:57 --> 21:01 a wild experience because I was not into the spirituality. I wasn't into
21:01 --> 21:04 any of that. When my friend was like, oh, you need to go see this
21:04 --> 21:08 woman. She's like, she can help you tune into your intuition.
21:08 --> 21:11 And she's kind of psychic. And I'm like, okay,
21:11 --> 21:14 you say she's great, but whatever. I'll sign up. We'll see what happens.
21:15 --> 21:19 Were you not as into the intuitive side? Not at
21:19 --> 21:22 all. Okay. I was just living my life in marketing,
21:22 --> 21:25 clock in, clock out. And so I reached out to this woman and I was
21:26 --> 21:29 like, Hi, I'd like to make an appointment. And she was like, okay, sure.
21:29 --> 21:32 I have something available in 9 months. And I'm like, okay, I think
21:33 --> 21:36 I'm available in 9 months. Pencil me in. So long story short,
21:36 --> 21:40 it ended up landing on the day that my dog passed away. Wow.
21:40 --> 21:42 And I reached out to her and I'm like, it was so sweet. I was
21:42 --> 21:45 so green. I'm like, do I need to be in a good mood? I'm clearly
21:45 --> 21:48 not. This is a really hard, heavy day. Came out of nowhere. It wasn't like
21:49 --> 21:52 this long-term thing. It literally happened in 3 days when she had passed away.
21:53 --> 21:58 And she's like, it's up to you, but I have this contract
21:58 --> 22:01 with the universe that says these appointments land on the day that you need the
22:01 --> 22:04 most. And I'm like, okay, body chills. I feel like I have to go.
22:05 --> 22:08 I don't know. Something's there for me. So I walk in and she knows nothing
22:09 --> 22:11 about, I just said my puppy passed away. She knows nothing about it. So I
22:12 --> 22:14 walk in and her name was Lady, my dog. And she said,
22:15 --> 22:19 hey, so Lady wasn't a puppy, right? She was 14 and a
22:19 --> 22:23 half. And I'm like, yes. Like, what are you, what?
22:23 --> 22:26 She's like, she's got some messages for you. And I just remember being like,
22:27 --> 22:30 whoa. And I sat down. She had written out like front and back this piece
22:30 --> 22:33 of paper, all these channeled messages. And I'm like, well, I can't not be a
22:33 --> 22:36 believer now. What was that? You know what I mean? I'm looking at this piece
22:37 --> 22:40 of paper like, that's not, you can't find that on Google. Like what in the
22:40 --> 22:44 world? And it was, it kind of just blew my mind in the most incredible
22:44 --> 22:47 way where I was like, First of all, the worst day of my life
22:47 --> 22:51 had me start to question everything that I believed at the same time, where it
22:51 --> 22:54 was like, maybe our relationship isn't ending. Maybe it's just changing form.
22:56 --> 22:59 And then it set me on this path to just wanting to know more and
22:59 --> 23:02 getting more and more curious about how that got me in tune with my own
23:02 --> 23:06 spirit and what did I come here to build? And it was this beautiful spiritual
23:06 --> 23:09 awakening. But I will say loss has been the greatest catalyst for me because
23:10 --> 23:13 it has you question Everything. It's so interesting that you
23:13 --> 23:18 have that story because that was— my dog
23:18 --> 23:22 passing away was the— he had
23:22 --> 23:25 heart failure and he had— we were told that
23:25 --> 23:29 he was going to, I think, have 6 months to live and he ended up
23:29 --> 23:33 living 2 years into it. Yeah. But it was the last, I would say,
23:33 --> 23:36 4 or 5 months was a struggle. Yeah. And I was in this
23:36 --> 23:40 place where I was trying to figure out, do you put him down? And I
23:40 --> 23:43 think everyone— yeah, everyone just tells you to put him
23:43 --> 23:45 down, right? Everyone just goes, put him down, put him down. And I was like,
23:46 --> 23:49 no, like, he's still there. Like, he still gets up and he's still— he,
23:50 --> 23:54 he's still aware what's going on. And I remember, um, when I was told
23:54 --> 23:57 that diagnosis, I was like— I, I was working in an office at the time,
23:57 --> 24:01 and I was like, I don't want to spend the last 6
24:01 --> 24:05 months of his life me being gone from like 9 to whatever
24:05 --> 24:08 it is, right? So I ended up changing the course of my life for it.
24:08 --> 24:11 It really like— oh, I've got body chills. Yeah. I was like, I have to,
24:11 --> 24:15 I'm gonna figure out how to, to get into other industries. I, I got into,
24:15 --> 24:18 you know, credit card processing, insurance and all this stuff where I can work from
24:18 --> 24:21 home and spend time with him. And I was, to this day,
24:22 --> 24:25 I've, I have no regrets. Yeah. Because there was this, there was this dip in
24:25 --> 24:28 income for a little bit as you're trying to get yourself going. And then you're
24:28 --> 24:31 like, but every moment I had, and the only moment I
24:32 --> 24:35 didn't have with him was literally the last hour of his life.
24:36 --> 24:39 I went out for, for grab something to eat because I was like— and he
24:39 --> 24:42 was— something was going on and came back and ended up, I think, having a
24:42 --> 24:46 heart attack and he just passed away. So I understand that, like, that, that moment
24:46 --> 24:50 made me rethink my whole entire life. Yes. And then what was interesting
24:50 --> 24:54 was, um, my uncle passed away, I think, 3 months
24:54 --> 24:57 right after that. He was the closest person I had as a father. Yes.
24:58 --> 25:01 So I was like, this is, this is crazy what's happening. Like,
25:01 --> 25:05 and I It's interesting. I think as you're growing
25:05 --> 25:09 up, most of you don't really experience
25:09 --> 25:13 a lot of that spirituality because you're just like in your 20s and
25:13 --> 25:16 yourself and just doing your thing. And then when you get in your 30s and
25:16 --> 25:20 40s and people start to pass away or any, anybody,
25:20 --> 25:24 any, your animals, whoever it is, start to pass away, you start to feel
25:25 --> 25:28 like you're not invincible anymore. Right. That there's just, you have to try
25:29 --> 25:32 to find this connection and it, the same thing that you went through, I think
25:32 --> 25:36 it opened me up to not just really talking
25:36 --> 25:40 about religion so much, but it's this
25:40 --> 25:43 other thing that we don't know and how do we connect to it. Right.
25:44 --> 25:48 Um, do you think it has, it has made
25:48 --> 25:52 you a better business
25:52 --> 25:56 coach to people by being able to, to just think outside the box
25:56 --> 25:59 now? Absolutely. Yeah. Yes. It's been so, uh,
26:00 --> 26:03 when you can meet someone in every season of their life,
26:03 --> 26:07 whether it's in business, whether it's, you know, any of the big seasons that they're
26:07 --> 26:11 moving through, divorce, loss, health scares, all of these things. If you can meet them
26:11 --> 26:15 in all of that, it's one of the most beautiful experiences
26:15 --> 26:19 to hold space for someone who's moving through something really big like that. Because it
26:19 --> 26:22 goes so much deeper than business coaching and healing and all of these things.
26:22 --> 26:26 I'm holding space for all of it because it all impacts business. It impacts,
26:26 --> 26:30 do I wanna show up today? Can I show up today? Do I feel okay
26:30 --> 26:34 to show up? And so that's why everything is like, there's nothing off the
26:35 --> 26:37 table. Mm-hmm. In what we do. And that's what I find to be so powerful
26:37 --> 26:41 is like having gone through some really difficult experiences, I, the breadth
26:42 --> 26:45 and depth of the container that I hold is so much deeper. Mm-hmm. Because of
26:45 --> 26:48 that, I would have no frame of reference if I had never lost anyone and
26:48 --> 26:52 everything was easy. Right. I'd be like, sure, just do this. It's like the
26:52 --> 26:56 compassion piece is what I've received from every single loss that I've had.
26:56 --> 26:59 And it's absolutely changed me as a person and as a mentor and a coach.
27:00 --> 27:03 Yeah. Yeah. And I think when I'm advising
27:03 --> 27:07 a client or something, I just start to, if they're not focused
27:07 --> 27:11 on a business or that discussion at that moment, I start to think about that.
27:11 --> 27:14 Right. What has gone through that the last 3 days,
27:14 --> 27:17 last 24 hours, whatever it is. Right. I'm trying to figure out,
27:18 --> 27:22 What's— how to, how to navigate that conversation so I
27:22 --> 27:25 can connect to it. And sometimes it's tough, you know. I, I think when,
27:26 --> 27:29 um, I've had, you know, advising clients that have come through and
27:30 --> 27:34 they're like, let me tell you what's happened in the last week, and you're just
27:34 --> 27:37 like, there's no way you're in a frame of mind to talk to me right
27:38 --> 27:41 now. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Like, by the way, I'm, I'm importing
27:41 --> 27:45 a bunch of stuff from China to be able to launch in the next 30
27:45 --> 27:47 days, I'm like, right, you're like, I think you need to— are you okay?
27:47 --> 27:51 Yeah, yeah, that's the question. What I've, I've told certain
27:51 --> 27:54 people, I'm like, you should go deal with that right now because I think it's,
27:55 --> 27:58 it's more important to be able to start to check those things off of
27:59 --> 28:03 the list so that you can concentrate on this. Because that energy, I think sometimes
28:03 --> 28:06 when people are pulling from— I won't say bad energy,
28:06 --> 28:10 but I feel like that's where it is, right? It's this, this, this, this I
28:10 --> 28:14 don't know, evilness or whatever it is that's in the world that, that's pulling us
28:14 --> 28:17 in different directions, trying to make us unfocused to
28:17 --> 28:21 where we need to go. Right. And I, I want people to start to
28:21 --> 28:26 clear that out because when you're dealing with other consumers,
28:26 --> 28:29 clientele, you're coming there, they can feel it too. They can absolutely
28:29 --> 28:32 feel it when you're short with them. When you're just like, you're just like,
28:32 --> 28:35 I, I gotta go. Yeah. Because we're really, that was, could be
28:36 --> 28:39 a really important meeting where they can refer you other clients and you're
28:39 --> 28:43 just not focused on what's going on in that moment. Yes. Um, you know,
28:43 --> 28:47 I, I think sometimes it's, but it's tough, right? We're at
28:47 --> 28:51 us, uh, up to a certain level until you can start to delegate the,
28:51 --> 28:54 you know, what we were talking about. Yeah. You're doing a lot of it yourself.
28:54 --> 28:58 So that emotion, you have to carry that burden of,
28:59 --> 29:02 um, the stress of the business, your personal life. And then
29:02 --> 29:06 if you are married to someone, live with someone, have kids, you have
29:06 --> 29:09 to deal with that too. Yeah. And, and bring that all into one place.
29:09 --> 29:13 Um, do you think, do you think there's a point where,
29:15 --> 29:18 where for clients that you've seen that there's a point that they get to and
29:18 --> 29:21 they're like, you're like, you know what? You've, you've cleared a lot of that out.
29:21 --> 29:24 Mm-hmm. And now you can really concentrate in business. Or do you think it's always
29:24 --> 29:28 ongoing? Yeah. Yeah. I know. Right. There's always more. Uh,
29:29 --> 29:32 I find it's, cyclical, you know, there's there. And if we can heal things
29:32 --> 29:36 in real time, it, life and our business
29:36 --> 29:40 gets so much easier because everything is a mirror. So certain things
29:40 --> 29:44 that we do in business, certain, um, steps we wanna take, all of these things,
29:45 --> 29:48 we're gonna be confronted with internal dialogues and experiences and life
29:49 --> 29:51 and all of this stuff is gonna get in the way. The more that we
29:51 --> 29:54 can start to tune into, okay, what is happening internally around
29:55 --> 29:58 this and we can move it. The faster we can go. So I actually find
29:59 --> 30:02 slowing down does make it faster because we're pausing for a minute to say,
30:02 --> 30:06 let me move that so that the client doesn't feel the energy. Because I
30:06 --> 30:10 always say what's happening inside, it's kind of like, uh, what's being projected
30:10 --> 30:13 out into our aura. So it's kind of like you walk into a room and
30:13 --> 30:16 you're like, that energy feels bad in that corner. That person, like, I don't know,
30:16 --> 30:19 I just don't wanna talk to that person. Uh, I think I'm gonna leave and
30:19 --> 30:22 go this way. Or you walk in and there's just someone who's welcoming you that
30:22 --> 30:26 you're like, ah, I just feel so good in their presence. You're interacting
30:26 --> 30:29 with their aura, their energy. And what's happening with the aura is
30:29 --> 30:32 essentially a collection of all of your internal dialogues, all the things
30:32 --> 30:36 you're moving through, all of your fears, all of that is projected out.
30:36 --> 30:40 We don't know that sometimes. And it's like, if my aura is now connecting
30:40 --> 30:44 with yours and I know how you're feeling about certain things
30:44 --> 30:47 without you even saying a word. And so it's like, it's the person that let's
30:48 --> 30:51 say just isn't confident at all, but they're saying something, but you're like, something tells
30:51 --> 30:54 me, is not lining up, we can feel that. So if we
30:55 --> 30:58 can work on that behind closed doors and then step into the spaces where we're
30:59 --> 31:02 connecting and all of these things, it's a game changer. People can feel
31:02 --> 31:06 when the energy is more clear than when there's a lot of internal dialogues
31:07 --> 31:09 that we haven't even touched. Yeah, and I think there's some people that are really
31:09 --> 31:13 intuitive. Like, I feel— I can feel that with people when I start to connect.
31:14 --> 31:18 And then when I've had people get introduced to me that I
31:19 --> 31:22 So I've always had this thing where like, if I, if I'm not,
31:23 --> 31:26 uh, if I don't align with them, it feels like this,
31:26 --> 31:30 uh, like a— from my stomach, like a roller coaster ride. Like, it's just weird.
31:30 --> 31:34 Like, and I'm like, oh, this person's not— I can tell. And I've—
31:35 --> 31:38 I mean, I know this is hard to explain to people, but I've been 100%
31:38 --> 31:41 correct. Exactly. Every time. Yeah. And I was like,
31:41 --> 31:45 every time. And I find out something and I go And I'm like,
31:45 --> 31:47 I knew I shouldn't. Yes. I knew I stayed away from them for a reason.
31:48 --> 31:52 Right. Right. Yeah. Have you had people that are
31:52 --> 31:56 maybe introduced to you by a client or referred over and they were
31:56 --> 32:00 not in that space and now they're starting to understand? I'm like, oh, I get
32:01 --> 32:04 this now what you're saying, where I have this aura to align with someone I
32:05 --> 32:08 wanna do business with or connect with and grow. Have you had people that just
32:08 --> 32:12 have switched over? Mm-hmm. For that? Yeah. I, well, my husband, he's like,
32:12 --> 32:14 what do you do for a living? I'm so confused. I'm like, just call me
32:14 --> 32:18 a business coach. It's fine. And now, he'll start
32:18 --> 32:21 to say things where I'm like, that was kinda spiritual. You know what I mean?
32:21 --> 32:24 Where I'm just like letting it kind of like percolate and be like whatever he
32:25 --> 32:28 wants it to be. But I'm not rushing him. The way that he does life
32:29 --> 32:31 is perfect. And we're like kind of like yin yang. It's like this idea of
32:31 --> 32:34 like, I do this over here and he's really good at this over there.
32:34 --> 32:38 It's this very balanced energy. And so, I would never expect him
32:38 --> 32:41 to come all the way to this side. He's not gonna expect me to go
32:41 --> 32:44 all the way to the construction side. Like, that's not interesting to me. Like,
32:44 --> 32:47 it's awesome for him. He loves it. He loves when his mind can look at
32:48 --> 32:51 spreadsheets and figure out design plans and all of these things. For me,
32:51 --> 32:54 I'm like, let's go to the ethers. You know, it's like, and he's like,
32:54 --> 32:57 no thanks. So it's fun because we balance
32:57 --> 33:01 each other out where the things where I didn't even want to touch it.
33:01 --> 33:04 Now I'm like, well, you know what? Spreadsheets are kind of nice because
33:05 --> 33:08 they keep me organized. You know, little things like that where I find we're starting
33:08 --> 33:10 to balance each other out in that way, but we don't rush each other.
33:11 --> 33:14 Yeah. And I think this is one important thing.
33:14 --> 33:18 And I feel like after listening to your podcast that
33:18 --> 33:22 you bring up is it's this underlying tone
33:22 --> 33:25 of being able to grow, right? In multiple ways.
33:25 --> 33:29 And I think that's something that's important for us as adults,
33:30 --> 33:33 as we were nurtured
33:34 --> 33:37 a certain way, we come in a certain environment, and then we were like,
33:37 --> 33:40 this is the way life is supposed to be. And it's Most
33:40 --> 33:44 of the times it's not because someone else is living a completely different life and
33:44 --> 33:48 they're able to survive and they go through. And I think
33:48 --> 33:51 it's important to start to see that as you grow
33:52 --> 33:55 up, you see, you know, I'm just gonna open this door a
33:55 --> 33:59 little bit. Just let this thought come or process come in or this
33:59 --> 34:03 otherworldly culture that I don't know anything about and just see
34:04 --> 34:07 if it's gonna touch my soul a little bit to be able to grow.
34:07 --> 34:11 And I think that's one of the toughest things is to get people
34:11 --> 34:14 to see that. And then, but I've met people who have changed their lives just
34:15 --> 34:19 like you and I have one day. And, and it went from, and some
34:19 --> 34:22 people were just like so far from where they were. Yeah. Like, you know,
34:22 --> 34:26 I've, I've been told, I've had, I've met and have friends
34:26 --> 34:29 now that, uh, people have told me about their past and I'm like,
34:29 --> 34:33 there's no way that's the same person. Right. But yeah, it's a lot of times
34:33 --> 34:36 something happened and they found this other path and go, I need to be a
34:37 --> 34:40 better person. Yeah. Or I mean, better person is, I always put in quotes just
34:40 --> 34:44 because it's different to each of us. For sure. Yeah. And then, but now
34:44 --> 34:47 they're doing things that are spreading this.
34:47 --> 34:50 Like, I found this, whatever it is, and I want other people
34:51 --> 34:55 to see it. Do you think, what do
34:56 --> 34:59 you think is gonna be the next steps for you as Christina
34:59 --> 35:01 to grow into, I don't know,
35:03 --> 35:06 expand? Your spirituality or who you are? Mm-hmm.
35:07 --> 35:10 That's such a good question because the evolution, to your point,
35:10 --> 35:13 can be, we can dip our toes in or it can just be like,
35:14 --> 35:17 boom. Mm-hmm. Like, whoa. And a lot of that happens through death,
35:17 --> 35:20 through, you know what I mean? Yeah. Through, uh, losing someone we love through health
35:20 --> 35:23 scares, all of these things that, that can blow us open really fast where suddenly
35:23 --> 35:27 we're like, I need to find another way of being. Uh, it's nice when we
35:27 --> 35:30 can dip our toes in and start to kind of like tune into what's next
35:30 --> 35:33 for me. And so, I mean, I always joke with my husband. I'm like,
35:33 --> 35:36 I'm a sorority girl turned shaman. Like, yikes, who did you marry? You know what
35:37 --> 35:39 I mean? Like, it's like, whoa. Like, but it's, that was my evolution. Yeah.
35:39 --> 35:43 It's like, it's pretty crazy to think about, but essentially I just kept
35:43 --> 35:47 following the path that felt like it was most aligned with me. And that's
35:47 --> 35:50 the power of doing that. And the power of tuning into your intuition is it's
35:51 --> 35:55 gonna keep guiding you to what's next for you. And usually it
35:55 --> 35:58 is like a whisper. That's kind of how the intuition works. It will be a
35:58 --> 36:01 whisper. And then if you don't listen to it, it can get louder and louder.
36:01 --> 36:04 And one of my mentors says it's the dropkick in the face where it's like
36:04 --> 36:07 the health scare or it's something else where if we're not paying attention,
36:08 --> 36:13 the universe, our body will get our attention somehow. And so when
36:13 --> 36:16 we can tune into the intuitive whisper, it makes life so much easier. So that's
36:17 --> 36:20 what I'm continuing to do is just tuning in, seeing what's next, seeing where I'm
36:20 --> 36:24 feeling guided, seeing where I feel expanded. And that's where I feel like energy flows
36:24 --> 36:28 the easiest is when we're tuned in and we're like, I feel really excited to
36:28 --> 36:32 create that. I'm going to do it. Was there ever a point when after
36:32 --> 36:36 that initial moment that you were like, this is sort of
36:36 --> 36:39 scaring me a little bit. Totally. Yeah. I'm like, what is this?
36:39 --> 36:43 This is so scary. But at the same time it was like,
36:44 --> 36:47 but why does it feel so good? Why do I feel more like myself than
36:47 --> 36:51 I ever have before? And so it was like, I just kept
36:51 --> 36:54 following it. And honestly, I followed it in secret for a while where I was
36:54 --> 36:57 like, I just need to understand this for myself first, because I don't
36:57 --> 37:00 wanna go preaching it to other people if it's not their jam.
37:00 --> 37:04 I'm okay with wherever anyone is in their journey. But I will
37:04 --> 37:08 say that was probably one of the hardest parts moving through it was suddenly
37:08 --> 37:12 realizing there's misalignment with people in your life when you
37:12 --> 37:14 start to open the door to other things and you're like, I wanna follow this.
37:14 --> 37:18 This is so cool. And people are like, what? And so
37:18 --> 37:22 there are people that are there for a lifetime and some people that
37:22 --> 37:25 are there for a season and having to be okay with that too and grieving
37:25 --> 37:30 that process. Through it. Yeah, I've always, I've always been
37:31 --> 37:34 curious as to what gets people, like you're
37:34 --> 37:37 saying, all the way in, or sometimes they just dip their toes and keep moving,
37:37 --> 37:41 right? I, I think for me it's always been, uh, a dipping
37:41 --> 37:45 in like half a foot into everything. And just, I, I love
37:45 --> 37:49 being a part and a piece of a lot of different things
37:49 --> 37:52 just so I can feel like I've experienced it. It's a part of me now
37:53 --> 37:56 and I can keep learning. But you and I
37:56 --> 38:00 probably meet people like this all the time that they go in, they're all
38:00 --> 38:04 in. They find something like, I love this so much. And you're like,
38:04 --> 38:07 wow. Wow. Hello. Yeah. And one
38:07 --> 38:11 of the things, I don't think a lot, I'm sharing this with you,
38:11 --> 38:14 I don't think a lot of people know this about me. So I went through
38:17 --> 38:21 from 1st to 8th grade, Ended up— so my family's actually Buddhist
38:21 --> 38:24 by birth. And then they ended up going to Catholic school
38:25 --> 38:27 for 8 years. Oh yeah. Because it was right across the street from where we
38:27 --> 38:30 lived in New York City. And my mother was like, this is a great school.
38:31 --> 38:34 We go in there. And in that school,
38:35 --> 38:39 there were so many different other religions.
38:40 --> 38:45 So we had Muslim kids would come in. There were Jewish
38:45 --> 38:48 kids were also there. It was just kind of this mix of like, 'cause I
38:49 --> 38:52 think they just wanted their kids at the time, this was in the '80s,
38:52 --> 38:55 they just wanted the kids to go through a private school, be able to go
38:55 --> 38:58 there. And what was interesting was
39:00 --> 39:03 there was a moment where I was like, what are we doing as
39:04 --> 39:07 a family? Is this right? And so I started learning about
39:07 --> 39:11 all different religions and it became this, I felt like
39:12 --> 39:16 this pot that was stirred and I didn't know what I wanted to come
39:16 --> 39:20 out of it. I was like, I'm like, I'm just all into religion because I
39:20 --> 39:23 was so confused. One thing I was confused is like, how can we
39:23 --> 39:27 all be right? That was my question. That was my biggest question.
39:27 --> 39:31 And until I got to college and
39:32 --> 39:36 I went to Seton Hall University, Jesuit school, and we
39:36 --> 39:39 had to take these, religion classes. And I was,
39:39 --> 39:42 at that point, I was so fed up with religion because I had done so
39:43 --> 39:45 much research on my own. I was like, I'm not getting the right answers.
39:45 --> 39:49 Yeah. And there was this brilliant, uh, she had
39:49 --> 39:52 multiple books. She was a professor and she taught world religion.
39:52 --> 39:56 And one day I made an appointment with her and go into the, um,
39:56 --> 39:59 class. And I was like, I, I, I kind of want some answers. I don't
39:59 --> 40:03 know, like, what am I supposed to be, um, believing? And I, I gave her
40:03 --> 40:07 this 2-hour story of like where I was. And she's like, and this is something
40:07 --> 40:11 that changed my life. She said, maybe that's your journey is just to
40:11 --> 40:14 learn and, and never like be all in anything.
40:14 --> 40:17 Right. She's like, she's like, that's what I've done. She's like, I've, I've,
40:18 --> 40:21 she's told me she lived, um, and studied in 26 different
40:22 --> 40:25 religious cultures around the world. And she spent like years sometimes going in
40:26 --> 40:29 there learning. She's like, my thing wasn't to be a part of it. It was
40:29 --> 40:32 just to know that this all exists and I'm okay with it. And then
40:33 --> 40:36 from that moment it changed my life because I was like, that's cool. I can
40:36 --> 40:40 live with that. I don't need to figure out. And then I think as that
40:40 --> 40:44 started happening, and then to your, what do you talk about with intuitiveness
40:45 --> 40:48 that I was like, oh, this is a part of me too. Because I always
40:48 --> 40:51 kind of shut it down. 'Cause I was like, it was as a kid,
40:52 --> 40:56 it didn't quite make sense. I would listen to or feel
40:56 --> 40:58 things in me. I'm like, I don't like this person. I don't know why,
40:59 --> 41:02 but there's no reason to. And then I would be right. And then over time
41:02 --> 41:05 it just kept on happening. And there was such a— it happened so much.
41:05 --> 41:09 And I know, like, for my listeners, it's probably going off the rails, but I
41:09 --> 41:12 love it. But there was a time that it was so correct
41:13 --> 41:17 that I had an ex-girlfriend and her, she would have her friends bring their
41:17 --> 41:21 dates to me. Whoa. And I would tell them, I would tell them,
41:21 --> 41:24 I was like, yes or no. Yeah. And they were always— it was always right.
41:24 --> 41:26 Oh my gosh. They were like, they're like, I need you to meet this guy
41:26 --> 41:28 because like we've gone on 2 dates. I want to know. I want to go,
41:29 --> 41:32 you know, he's Hiding some sort of secret. You don't want to be part of
41:32 --> 41:34 it. Yeah, run for the hills. Yeah, run for the hills. Don't do it.
41:34 --> 41:36 And they would find out. And I've had people that were like, no, there's no
41:37 --> 41:39 way. And they would find out. They were like, oh shoot, he did this and
41:40 --> 41:43 he did this and you're right. So, um, so I get it. So I'm all
41:43 --> 41:47 on board with what you say. Yes, that is so cool. Yeah. But, um,
41:47 --> 41:51 but okay, so kind of come back. Uh, um, is there
41:51 --> 41:54 anything you want to share with— did you have coming up with, uh, any courses
41:55 --> 41:58 or anything for your— for the listeners out there? Hmm. So I,
41:58 --> 42:01 there's so many spaces that I love to play in. Of course, I've got my
42:01 --> 42:05 one-on-one containers where we go the most deep, most personalized
42:05 --> 42:08 and massive quantum leaps in the space, which is so fun,
42:09 --> 42:12 uh, for the business owner that's wanting to scale to 7 figures and beyond,
42:12 --> 42:14 but wants to get out of their own way. They don't know, you know,
42:15 --> 42:18 necessarily what's next. That's gonna be a powerful place for
42:18 --> 42:21 them to play. I have a mastermind, which is so much fun. That's where all
42:22 --> 42:25 of the collective energy in the space, Lots of people that are building something
42:25 --> 42:29 to be around other like-minded people. That's, it's, it's a true mastermind.
42:29 --> 42:32 Yeah, that's great. So it's not just me in there coaching. It's like, okay,
42:32 --> 42:36 let's sit at a table, whether it's in-person or virtual, and actually ask
42:37 --> 42:40 the brilliant minds in the space, what have you done? And often I say,
42:40 --> 42:44 tune into your body and see what feels right. Grab a bunch of information
42:44 --> 42:47 and say, that's nice for you, not mine. Or that's interesting.
42:47 --> 42:49 I'm going to take it and kind of shift it and make it mine.
42:49 --> 42:53 And that's the beauty of the mastermind space is that there's so many brilliant minds
42:53 --> 42:56 that we start to actually create. And it's a beautiful
42:57 --> 42:59 space for us to start to tune into. How do I, how did I come
42:59 --> 43:03 here to build? Like a synergy of exactly minds getting together.
43:03 --> 43:07 Yes. We're going to have in-person events now, which is something I channeled
43:07 --> 43:10 as like, this is next for you. This is next for the space. So that
43:10 --> 43:13 is really aligned. I've seen that in my mind's eye for a really long time
43:14 --> 43:17 and just leaning into the podcast even more, that You
43:17 --> 43:21 Unlimited podcast. I'm obsessed with it. It's so fun because we've got incredible
43:21 --> 43:24 business owners in the space like yourself that we start tuning into,
43:24 --> 43:28 not just business, but simultaneously, you know, how did you build
43:28 --> 43:32 the thing? Let's talk about all the layers underneath business that is actually some of
43:32 --> 43:35 the most connecting pieces. And how can we learn from maybe some
43:36 --> 43:38 ways that we've stumbled so we don't have to do that ourselves? That's great.
43:39 --> 43:43 And, uh, what's the easiest way to contact you? So many
43:43 --> 43:46 different ways you could connect with me on Instagram. That's a great spot.
43:46 --> 43:50 So it's @iamchristinadeering, uh,
43:50 --> 43:53 which is fun and spelled D-E-E-R-I-N-G. So like a deer,
43:54 --> 43:57 and that's a great way to connect with me or, you know, uh, my website,
43:57 --> 44:00 christinadeering.com. And if you want that 7-figure shift,
44:00 --> 44:03 christinadeering.com/shift. Great, great way
44:04 --> 44:07 to start to lean in and move the energy around anything you're manifesting. All right,
44:07 --> 44:11 great. Well, everyone, uh, please, uh, contact Christina. I think
44:11 --> 44:15 this is gonna be, um, great for you as a business owner, entrepreneur.
44:15 --> 44:19 Listen to her podcast. It's great. It's motivating. It's also really, uh,
44:19 --> 44:22 intuitive to— yes. Yes. So, uh, thank you
44:22 --> 44:25 so much for being on the podcast. Thank you so much. This was so much
44:25 --> 44:28 fun. Yeah, it is. And, uh, this is Personal Side of Business. Thank you.
44:28 --> 44:31 So we, we wrapped up and we were just talking and I wanted to add
44:31 --> 44:35 this as the sort of the bonus to this episode. Um,
44:35 --> 44:39 Christina wanted to share a story. Just, I think it's going to be really
44:40 --> 44:43 poignant for a lot of you that, that go through a lot of life,
44:44 --> 44:48 uh, issues, trauma, drama, um, as you're
44:48 --> 44:52 an entrepreneur and how you're going to be able to deal with that. So Christina,
44:52 --> 44:56 sure. Yeah. So we were just talking about loss. You know,
44:56 --> 44:59 I know we kind of dug into that a little bit earlier about the loss
44:59 --> 45:03 of our dogs, which was so difficult. And one of the,
45:04 --> 45:08 One of the biggest catalysts I myself walked through as well was having
45:08 --> 45:12 miscarriages, back to back to back miscarriages. And I have a
45:12 --> 45:15 5-year-old son who I am just obsessed with. He is like the light of my
45:16 --> 45:19 life. And then the second we started trying for the second one, it just became
45:20 --> 45:24 back to back to back to back miscarriages, 4 of them in
45:24 --> 45:28 a year and a half, and still showing up
45:28 --> 45:31 for business and not, And I, believe me,
45:31 --> 45:34 when I would say I was going through some deep healing modalities, I'm like,
45:35 --> 45:37 I will do anything if this will get me to the other side of this
45:38 --> 45:41 so that I can hold my baby in my arms. And so when we talk
45:41 --> 45:44 about opening up to the spiritual realm, I kept
45:45 --> 45:48 connecting to that baby over and over and over again.
45:48 --> 45:51 And I'm like, I know this baby's coming. I know it in my bones.
45:51 --> 45:54 I don't care what anyone says. I don't care what doctors are saying. Uh,
45:54 --> 45:57 I'm positive that this baby is coming. Even when people in my life were like,
45:58 --> 46:01 you should just stop trying. It's so hard that, right? That's just so hard.
46:01 --> 46:05 Mm-hmm. Anything that we're trying to manifest, you're gonna get
46:05 --> 46:08 people that say, hey, the 3D evidence is telling you to stop
46:09 --> 46:12 doing it. But if there's a part of you that, you know, in the cells
46:12 --> 46:16 of your body that this baby is coming or this business baby is coming
46:16 --> 46:19 or whatever it is, like, I know that I'm meant to X,
46:20 --> 46:23 please keep going after that thing because I knew in my bones
46:24 --> 46:27 that this baby was going to come. Uh, and so I just
46:28 --> 46:31 kept, kept going at it. But it was kind of wild because it's like going
46:32 --> 46:35 back in the ring and getting your butt kicked over and over again. And then
46:35 --> 46:39 being like, I'm back. You know what I mean? And it was very traumatic,
46:39 --> 46:43 that whole experience of moving through the loss, but continuing
46:43 --> 46:46 to show up and saying, I know this baby's coming. Yeah.
46:47 --> 46:51 And I think people can use that as their
46:52 --> 46:56 excuse to stop. Yes. You're just like, and I don't want to use
46:56 --> 46:59 excuse. It's a strong word, but I think sometimes there's this, you can
47:00 --> 47:04 only take so much as a person and you're trying to find this motivation
47:04 --> 47:08 to keep going when things like that happen. What were you
47:08 --> 47:12 looking at as the long-term picture? Was it
47:12 --> 47:15 to have another child and family or just to be strong
47:16 --> 47:19 enough to get through whatever this is or both? It was both.
47:19 --> 47:23 It was both. It was like, I know that this baby is coming
47:23 --> 47:26 and I have to go deeper into the healing
47:26 --> 47:30 than I've ever gone before because It was really
47:30 --> 47:34 hard. I remember coming back from acupuncture and
47:34 --> 47:36 I, I was crying so hard that I couldn't even see the road.
47:38 --> 47:41 And I ended up pulling into an IKEA parking lot.
47:42 --> 47:46 And I remember calling my husband and being like, I can't
47:46 --> 47:50 do this anymore. And he's like, what are you talking about? I said, life,
47:50 --> 47:53 I don't want to do this anymore. And he was
47:54 --> 47:57 like, paused and he said, Christina, I need to know how serious you
47:57 --> 48:01 are about that statement. And at that point, I wasn't
48:02 --> 48:03 even sure. You know, it's like I didn't have a plan,
48:05 --> 48:08 but I knew I didn't want to do whatever the hell was going on over
48:09 --> 48:13 and over and over again. And so, but because I was honest
48:13 --> 48:17 about that, because I, you know, told my husband that, I knew
48:18 --> 48:20 that because I got it out of the cells of my body and I didn't
48:20 --> 48:23 just live with that in shame or in fear,
48:24 --> 48:28 it actually allowed me to process the grief even more than
48:28 --> 48:32 I thought that I needed to, because the moments kept coming in waves
48:32 --> 48:35 where it was like, I'm okay, I can keep going. And then you get your
48:36 --> 48:39 butt kicked again and you're like, I don't know how I keep going, but I
48:40 --> 48:42 know that I'm gonna keep going. So I just had to get really honest with
48:43 --> 48:46 myself about where I was, about what was happening, about what
48:46 --> 48:50 help I needed, because I could not do that on my own. I had to
48:50 --> 48:53 be really honest about where I was and the difficulty. Of all of
48:54 --> 48:57 it and leaned into the most powerful healing modalities
48:57 --> 49:01 on earth and just kept going.
49:01 --> 49:05 And it's been, I mean, now I know what I'm truly capable of.
49:05 --> 49:09 You know what I mean? Yeah. Thank you for sharing that. And I
49:09 --> 49:13 always said that mothers
49:14 --> 49:18 are the strongest creatures alive because you
49:18 --> 49:22 do whatever it takes to keep going. Right. There's no excuse when When
49:23 --> 49:27 you're sick, the world still has to keep moving on. When everyone else is
49:27 --> 49:31 sick around you, you have to take care of them. And I always think
49:31 --> 49:34 that is one of the hardest positions to be in,
49:36 --> 49:40 is a mother that has a goal to keep
49:40 --> 49:43 everyone else alive. You're trying to bring life to
49:44 --> 49:47 this world. Thank you so much for sharing that.
49:48 --> 49:52 I hope that when we share this, this is something that
49:53 --> 49:57 we all get to understand that we
49:57 --> 50:00 all go through this. This is something that's really hard for all of
50:01 --> 50:04 us. This conversation led to this is because I've gone through something like
50:05 --> 50:08 this too. And for Christina to be able to share this, I think shows
50:08 --> 50:12 that even though we're powerful, we're all human inside. So thank
50:13 --> 50:18 you so much. You're welcome. Thank you. And what's cool is I
50:18 --> 50:22 haven't shared this publicly at all, which is why we're
50:22 --> 50:25 going to wait to post the podcast a little later because I have to share
50:26 --> 50:30 it on my own podcast. But I ended up having a
50:30 --> 50:34 baby in secret. Oh, congrats. But I knew that
50:35 --> 50:38 this baby was coming. I knew it. But I was honestly, from all the trauma,
50:38 --> 50:41 I'm like, I can't, I'm not telling anyone. I'm not until I hear that baby
50:41 --> 50:45 cry. I don't know what's gonna happen. But one of
50:45 --> 50:49 the things that helped me the most since we've gone to the spiritual side of
50:49 --> 50:52 things, my doctors kept saying like,
50:53 --> 50:56 your test results are fine. And I kept thinking, but what's happening?
50:57 --> 51:01 Like, why is it not happening then? If you're telling me everything's fine, like what's
51:01 --> 51:05 really happening? So I ended up seeing a medical medium and
51:05 --> 51:09 I'm like, I will try anything. Like, I don't care. Like, let's do
51:09 --> 51:12 it. I ended up seeing a medical medium and she's like, you know, You're having
51:12 --> 51:16 a blood clotting issue due to pregnancy. And I think you need
51:16 --> 51:20 to take Lovenox. And I'm like, okay, either this woman
51:20 --> 51:24 is so far off because no one has said this or that's
51:24 --> 51:28 it. So long story short, I ended up firing
51:28 --> 51:31 my doctor, if you will, if you can do that, moving on to another doctor.
51:31 --> 51:33 'Cause I'm like, I'm not getting answers from this guy. Like this isn't working.
51:33 --> 51:37 Moving to another doctor. She's recommending IVF. I'm like, I'm getting pregnant. That doesn't feel
51:38 --> 51:42 right either. Using my intuition. Then I ended up finding this soul-aligned
51:43 --> 51:45 doctor. I mean, it was like an intuitive ping. I'm in a healing and it's
51:45 --> 51:49 like, look up Dallas OB-GYNs. I find this woman. She's like,
51:49 --> 51:52 I give out my cell number to my patients. And I'm like, you sound great.
51:53 --> 51:55 You know, I'm like, that sounds nice, a direct line. So I sent her a
51:56 --> 51:58 message. She's like, oh, I don't do that anymore. But you know, what are you
51:58 --> 52:01 looking for? So long story short, I ended up being like, I'm looking for,
52:01 --> 52:05 you know, all of these things in a unicorn. She goes, I've got the perfect
52:05 --> 52:09 doctor for you. So anyways, I go to this doctor. She's like, I'm like,
52:09 --> 52:12 I gotta be honest with you. I'm getting some intuitive, like, I don't
52:12 --> 52:16 know. And she's like, why don't we test? Let's see what the results say and
52:17 --> 52:20 what's the worst? And so we lean into it. Long story
52:21 --> 52:24 short, the medical medium was right because my doctor
52:25 --> 52:28 ran some tests, was able to confirm it. We have our baby.
52:29 --> 52:32 Nice. But I haven't shared it with the world because It was such a traumatic
52:33 --> 52:36 experience and I wanted to keep it sacred. I wanted to,
52:36 --> 52:39 I didn't want anyone to rock the boat. And this is with any manifestation you're
52:40 --> 52:43 bringing into fruition. If there are people that don't believe in it, don't share it
52:43 --> 52:48 with them yet. Like prove them wrong and keep going, continue to keep
52:48 --> 52:52 going. And when you do that, and then at the
52:52 --> 52:55 end of it, it doesn't even matter whether or not they believe in what you
52:55 --> 52:59 just did or not. You did it for yourself. And you kept going and
52:59 --> 53:03 I just kept going. And I feel so blessed to be able to hold this
53:03 --> 53:06 baby in my arms. We're going to end on that because
53:06 --> 53:10 that's such a beautiful note. This is why we
53:10 --> 53:14 turned the cameras back on. But now with that. Yeah. Thank you, Christina. Thank you
53:14 --> 53:17 so much. Yeah. Thank you for having me. And I really, I hope that this
53:17 --> 53:21 supports in whatever journey anyone was walking. Never give
53:21 --> 53:25 up. Your intuition is always right. Reach out to me anytime if
53:26 --> 53:29 you're moving through something heavy. I got you. All right. Thank you, guys.
53:29 --> 53:30 Thank you.
